What Checkmate does
Checkmate checks at fixed intervals whether websites, servers and services respond, keeps response times and outages as history and notifies you when something is down.
The monitored services can be assembled into a public status page.
HTTP, ping and port checks
Response times and outages over time
Notifications by email and webhook
Public status page
Good to know before the first start: Checkmate keeps its state in a MongoDB inside the same pod. Backups include it as a file copy; for a perfectly clean snapshot, pause the pod briefly first.

Common questions
- What does Checkmate cost on Podless?
- At the recommended size (1 cores · 2 GB RAM · 10 GB Storage) about €4.00 a month, billed by the hour. Stop Checkmate and you only pay for storage.
- Do I need technical knowledge?
- No. No server, no Docker, no terminal commands. You click start and Checkmate runs. Updates are tested on our own instances first and then rolled out.
- Where does my data live?
- In your own Checkmate instance on servers in Germany and France; bulk storage sits in Frankfurt. Add your own S3 bucket and we back up there daily, encrypted.
- Can I leave again?
- Checkmate is open source and keeps running on your own server. You fetch the files over a time-limited SFTP access and reach the database with the credentials from the dashboard.
